SUMMARY:

Qorvo is looking for an experienced Engineer with demonstrated success in Supplier Quality that can join Qorvo’s Worldwide Supplier Quality Engineering Team, located in the Richardson, TX campus. Ideal candidate will utilize their broad quality experience to support the selection, development, qualification, and management of supply chain partners. Experience working with Fabricated metal suppliers is a plus. Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to excel in a dynamic collaborative team environment is imperative to the success of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Strategic Product Development:
  • Execute Supplier Clean Launch activities to manage risk.
  • Support Supplier Selection and Management of ASL
  • Manage Controls over Prototype vs Production Materials
  • Review/Approve Communication of CTQ Features into Drawings
  • Release Quality Information Records
  • Quality controls setup in SAP
• Supplier Quality Management
  • Supplier Qualification
  • Supplier Change Management (PCNs)
  • Manage and Resolve Supplier Quality Issues
  • Manage SQ Records
  • Enforce Supplier Development/ Continuous Improvement
  • Supplier Quality Performance (On-site / Virtual Assessments, Scorecards, Metrics, etc.)

• Quality Systems
  • Proficiency in the practical usage of ISO9001 & AS9100 quality standard requirements
  • Support Supplier Quality systems and processes
  • Utilize Qorvo systems to manage; 8Ds, A3s, 8-steps Problem Solving and other Quality (CAPA) processes.
  • Use SAF/ Portal to manage docs to suppliers.
  • Help define new and innovative strategies for driving quality improvement at our suppliers to enable identifying and mitigating risk proactively.
• Cost or Poor Quality
  • Material Nonconformance Management
  • Identify and Communicate Suppliers of Quality Concern
  • Track and Report Metrics, Health Assessment, Performance Monitoring, etc.
  • Initiate RMA/RTVs
  • Resolve Blocked Stock Materials

• General Responsibilities
  • Proactive Risk Mitigation
  • Communicate SQE roles/ responsibilities.
  • Promote clear communication of Qorvo requirements to Suppliers.
  • Continuous Improvement (A3s and WIGs)
  • Support Cross Functional Projects
  • Lead resolution of supplier quality issues affecting supply chains for Qorvo’s diverse products across the globe
  • Participate in Commodity Management forums as a key quality member.
  • Travel Domestic / International 10-15% or as needed.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Thorough knowledge of Quality System requirements ISO 9001, IATF 16949 & AS9100.
• Good understanding of critical to quality characteristics and challenges associated to fabricated metal manufacturing.
• Aerospace and defense industry knowledge and experience of supply chains quality systems, their processes and how these processes are affected by their quality management system.
• Strong background in quality management principles in a semi-conductor, assembly, and test manufacturing environment.
• Solid Quality Engineering background with deep knowledge and detailed understanding of process control, SPC methodologies, reporting and when to use, DOE approaches and quality management system.
• Enjoy data manipulation, drawing conclusions and driving continuous improvements through data.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal customers and suppliers of a complex supply chain.
• Must be self-motivated and self-directed in fast paced cooperative technology environment and have demonstrated abilities to manage multiple priorities, multi-tasking and organizational skills paramount.
• Detail oriented with ZERO DEFECTS drive.
• Problem solver with an understanding of 8D methodologies to resolve issues; experience with Kaizen, LEAN, and HV-CPI preferred.
• Completed quality auditor training or Certified as Lead Auditor is preferred.
