For our De Nora Water Technology Business Unit, leading provider of equipment, systems, disinfection, and filtration solutions for water and wastewater treatment, Milan or Venice office, we are looking for a Electrical Engineer, who takes care of the instruments selection and their correct design and interface with the process, the automation and the electrical engineering.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Read and understand P&IDs and PFDs,
- Prepare engineering deliverables including Specifications, Instrument and Automatic Valves Datasheets, Logic Diagrams etc according to the application of International Standard (e.g., ATEX, CSA, NEC/NEMA, IECex),
- Prepare engineering drawings including Instrument Location Plans, Cable & JB Schedules, Cable Routing Layouts, Instrument Installation Details, Process / Pneumatic Hook-Ups, Interconnection Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Interconnection Diagrams,
- Attend meetings with Clients and Vendors to progress design scopes, English language is a must,
- Review and analyse the client specification and tenders,
- Accomplish of the assigned tasks, realize on schedule and on budget all the requirements related to the projects and tasks,
- Liaise with Proposal, Sales, Operation and Services to analyse problems, generating corrective actions to improve product performance,
- Support manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements,
- Select and size instrumentation devices suitable for chemical, oil and gas and hazardous area application,
- Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment and technical alignment of proposal,
- Select instruments, automatic valves and electrical device proposed from suppliers,
- Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards,
- Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget,
- Support Line Manager in:
- establishing work instructions and technical manuals, in compliance with provided guidelines,
- providing engineering support for plant activities,
- Prepare layouts and wiring diagrams of electric scope, distribution lines and panels wiring drawings.
Education and professional experience
- Bachelor’s Engineer in Electronics, Electrical, Automation or diploma,
- At least 3 years’ experience in the applicable Engineering dept,
- Familiarity with engineering principles, measurement methods, statistical analysis, mathematics, and physics,
- Understanding of core concepts including electrotechnics and programming logics is preferred,
- Creativity and analytical skills,
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner,
- Technical writing skills. Good written and verbal communication skills, both Italian and English,
- Strong attention to detail, safety, and operability,
- SIL awareness and preferably knowledge,
- ATEX/Ex proof installation technical knowledge,
- SAP coding knowledge,
- Siemens/Allen Bradley/Schneider PLC certified is a plus.
