THE ROLE
The Data Quality Lead Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the quality of enterprise data is continuously improved by identifying and driving data quality enhancement initiatives. The Data Quality Lead Analyst is responsible for development and implementation of processes to improve and maintain the quality of enterprise data.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Data Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain and enhance MFS' Data Quality Strategy to align with evolving industry and technology trends.
- Work with defined Data Governance Organization members (Business Data Trustees, Business Data Stewards, Operational Data Stewards and Technical Data Stewards) to understand issues with data quality, help to define preventative actions and define acceptable thresholds of data quality.
- Assess and implement data quality tools to align with organizational needs including data profiling and migration from legacy tools.
- Utilize metrics to identify data quality issues/gaps across the enterprise and work with business units to create solutions to improve data quality across the organization.
- Implement process and technology solutions to measure enterprise data coverage and quality. Establish rating scale for quality of domain data from source systems.
- Lead MFS' approach to enterprise standards for data patch management process
- Conduct information sessions to drive awareness of data quality and to train appropriate personnel on data quality processes, guidelines and technologies.
- Data Solutions Management (DSM)
Define and implement processes for MFS' enterprise standards to identify root causes and preventative solutions for data quality issues
Establish Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for DSM processes
Audit root cause dispositions and train stakeholders to ensure alignment with goals of process
- Monitor adherence to all Data Quality processes and guidelines and report exceptions
Data Quality Metrics Reporting
- Report enterprise data quality metrics at regular intervals and escalate to appropriate stakeholders if thresholds are exceeded.
- Monitor and publish DSM process metrics and escalate if SLAs are violated.
- Monitor and publish trends in root causes of data quality issues.
- Monitor and publish trends related to data patches.
- Enhance metrics reporting as organizational needs change
Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture and Application Development:
- Assess the impact of changes to the DQ strategy and collaborate with technology and architecture teams to adjust roadmaps as needed
- Maintain and enhance data quality monitoring guidelines for both data at rest and data in motion
- Establish enterprise standards for data profiling and other data quality guidelines
- Monitor trends in data movement failures and work with GIT to decrease issues over time

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5-6+ years experience with the Investment Industry or equivalent experience
- Understanding of data quality management principles
- Data quality business process improvement experience
- Deep knowledge of data quality analysis and data profiling tools and techniques
- Wide knowledge of data management, business intelligence, and information technology
- Must have process design experience, leadership and coaching skills
- Must have strong communication skills and be comfortable with speaking to individuals at all levels within the organization
- Must have excellent problem solving skills
- Experience writing queries using SQL
