The Opportunity:  

Cyber threats are everywhere, and the constantly evolving nature of these threats can make understanding them seem overwhelming to government agencies. In all of this “cyber noise,” how can these organizations understand their risks and how to mitigate them? The answer is you—an information security risk specialist who will break down complex threats into manageable plans of action.  

As an information security risk specialist on our team, you’ll use your experience to work with information system owners, system administrators, cybersecurity risk managers, and authorizing officials to discover their cyber risks and develop a mitigation plan. You’ll review technical, environmental, and personnel details supporting the information system to assess the entire threat landscape. Then, you’ll support the development of mitigations, document risks, and continually assess system risk. You’ll work with your client to translate security concepts, so they can make the best decisions to secure their information systems and reduce their attack surface. This is your opportunity to act as an information security subject matter expert while broadening your skills in the risk management framework, operational technology, and mission system cyber security.

You Have: 

• 3+ years of experience working with information technology (IT) or within the cybersecurity field

• Experience with implementing or assessing security controls within an information system

• Knowledge of the risk management framework and NIST 800-53

• Ability to monitor the progress of remediation

• Ability to work with information systems owners, risk managers, and security professionals to ensure the implementation, identification, and tracking of security control implementation within an information system

• Ability to obtain a security clearance

• HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have: 

• Experience with supporting non-traditional IT systems and Linux

• DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Management Level I Certification

Clearance: 

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
