Essential Job Statements
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage internal and external stakeholders through committee management, committee participation, and as-needed meetings to ensure effective emergency preparedness and response.
Documentation Management: Maintain local emergency management and business continuity related policies, procedures, and plans tailored to that area’s specific needs to include but not limited to the hazard vulnerability analysis, 96-hour inventory assessment and improvement plans, emergency operations and management plans, emergency response guides, HICS forms, and standard operating procedures.
Recovery and Evaluation: Manage post-emergency recovery efforts, including evaluating the response through standardized after-action review processes and monitoring follow-up actions to improve future preparedness
Compliance: Ensure the hospital meets all regulatory requirements, including CMS standards, and maintain accurate documentation of emergency preparedness activities
Coordination and Communication: Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies (e.g., local fire and police departments, state, and federal disaster response organizations).
Incident Assessment and Mitigation: Assist health system leaders in assessing activation and mitigation of organizational emergencies.
Incident Response and Management: Lead command center activation and management during organizational emergencies, ensuring efficient and effective implementation of the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP
Training and Exercises: Conduct and participate in regular training and emergency drills to ensure emergency preparedness at site-specific, health system, and community-wide levels.
Emergency Alert Management: Develop and disseminate clear emergency communications and status updates through various approved emergency communication systems.
Team Collaboration: Actively participate as a member of the emergency management team, contributing to team efforts and attending regular team meetings. Engage in special projects and initiatives to support the overall goals and objectives of the team.

Employment Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in an emergency management or health care related field from an accredited program.
Preferred Education: Master’s degree in emergency management or health care related field from an accredited program
