Your role at Sephora:

As a Director, Performance Engineering, you will be responsible for ensuring the engineering and operations of the performance engineering team, while driving the strategic direction for our Performance Engineering Center of Excellence. You will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies that enhance system performance and drive business results. Your expertise in performance engineering, testing tools, and optimization techniques will be essential to the success of our organization.

 

In addition, you will:

• Develop and implement performance engineering strategies, objectives, and standards to improve system performance & drive business results.
• Translate these strategies into actionable plans and guide their execution.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire the performance engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
• Oversee team productivity and development, including the management of direct reports.
• Collaborate with IT, Product Management, Development, Operations, and Client Experience teams to integrate performance engineering practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Communicate performance metrics and status to stakeholders, including senior leaders. Negotiate and reconcile multiple stakeholder views and priorities.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement within the performance engineering domain. Implement changes to enhance team productivity and system performance.
• Oversee the budget for performance engineering initiatives and make critical decisions on resource allocation and strategy implementation.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team.

 

We’re excited about you if you have:

•  A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 12+ years of experience in performance engineering and optimization techniques.
