Job Overview

The Program Manager (“PM”) is essential to the effective and efficient administration and operations of the Collaborative on Global Children's Issues at Georgetown University and to the support and execution of its mission.

The PM works closely with the Collaborative’s Executive Director to plan and execute the diverse activities of the Collaborative’s programs, developing work plans, managing administrative matters, logistics, and communications in coordination with OVPGE staff. The PM is responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of, and follow-through on most aspects of the Collaborative's programs and events in consultation with the Executive Director, delegating to the Program Assistant as necessary in the performance of his/her responsibilities. The PM plays a key role in coordinating two current projects: "Faith and the Family: Propagating and Preventing Child-Family Separation across Time and Context" in partnership with Catholic Relief Services, and "The Culture of Encounter and the Global Agenda Project" in collaboration with the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs. This includes coordinating working group activity, liaising with project consultants, planning, promotion, programming, reporting, and related tasks. The PM takes the lead on pre- and post-award administration for the Collaborative, including developing grant proposals, and preparing technical and financial reports in coordination with the OVPGE finance director for submission to sponsors. The PM also works closely with the Executive Director to explore and pursue new sources of funding and maintain partnerships with existing sponsors. The PM actively engages with on and off-campus partners, ensuring systems are in place to track contacts and communicate with partners through newsletters, social media, and in-person convenings. The PM will take the lead in liaising with global research and student fellows as these programs are developed. The PM will also develop new projects and establish relationships with new partners as the Collaborative’s portfolio continues to expand.

Work Interactions

The Program Manager reports directly to the Executive Director of the Collaborative on Global Children’s Issues. The PM supervises the Collaborative’s Program Assistant and supervises student employees. The PM works closely with OVPGE staff, faculty, project partners, vendors, and the broader community.
