Job Description Summary

The Application Developer will design, translate, and maintain production‑grade artificial‑intelligence software that supports radiation‑oncology workflows. The hire’s first mandate is to fully operationalize our newest in‑house AI‑enhanced pipeline, encompassing model development, clinical scripting, DICOM routing, and feedback capture. More broadly, the role hardens the department’s “data engine,” ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient use of AI in daily patient care.

Job Responsibilities

• Translate & Deploy New AI‑Enhanced Pipeline – Lead end‑to‑end implementation of the latest in‑house AI pipeline, including model training, clinical scripting, DICOM routing, and integration with treatment‑planning systems.

• Clinical AI Pipeline Maintenance & Hardening – Monitor, debug, and upgrade existing AI tools; implement DevOps best practices, automated testing, and cybersecurity safeguards.

• Data‑Engine Development – Build and optimize data‑ingestion, preprocessing, and feedback‑capture workflows (DICOM, HL7, SQL/NoSQL).

• Provide code reviews and tutorials for residents, graduate‑, and undergraduate‑level students; contribute to the “AI for Medicine” course

• Documentation & Compliance – Produce SOPs, technical documentation, and release notes; ensure HIPAA and institutional policy adherence.

•  Stakeholder Support & Collaboration – Gather requirements, present updates, and provide on‑call support to clinicians and IT.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Preferred experience with DICOM, HL7, SQL/NoSQL.
