Your Responsibilities
As a Senior User Experience Researcher for John Deere in Moline, IL, you will:
- Performs end-user facing research to gain insights that will impact an intentional user experience with John Deere solutions and communicates insights for use in the design process;
- Stay abreast of new methods, technology, and trends that impact user experience research and design practices and determines applicability within John Deere;
- Ensure the end-user voice is represented throughout the product development process and that the user experience is consistent with the user experience strategy;
- Guide, define, and execute research of moderate to high complexity, covering an expanded set of user classes and personas, which may involve creating new personas;
- Lead and/or participate in the creation of the user experience (UX) strategy for a narrow set of related solutions;
- Generate insights and recommendations that influence the design of products that span multiple platforms, typically within a single division, involving complex and often concurrent user interactions;
- Work to share knowledge across workgroups; mentor and coach less experienced UX Researchers.
- 20% domestic travel required. This is a 100% remote position.
What Skills You Need
- 2 years of experience in performing discovery activities to develop deep customer understanding, reveal pain points for users, and define research questions when investigating user behaviors in Automation & Autonomy projects
- 2 years of experience in planning user research studies and selecting appropriate metrics through literature review, UX principles & best practices
- 3 years of experience in collecting user data across the customer journey using different research methods to include usability testing, contextual inquiry, card sorting, heuristic evaluations and task analysis
- 3 years of experience in analyzing complex user data and performing significance testing by using research software including survey tools and data analysis packages
- 3 years of experience in writing formal research reports and presenting results to leadership and stakeholders with observations & insights along with action items
- 2 years of experience in use of psychophysiological metrics including Eye-Tracking, in validating pre-production HMI
