Machine Learning Operations Engineer

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Python / Machine Learning Engineer to join our innovative team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to work on complex, high-impact products, using cutting-edge technologies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python, with experience running machine learning workloads at scale, particularly in cloud environments.

This role focuses on scaling, optimizing, and ensuring the resiliency of Python-based computer vision models for handwriting recognition and classification.

The candidate will collaborate closely with machine learning experts and infrastructure specialists to ensure efficient and cost-effective model execution.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

If you are Brazil-based, you will be joining our engineering team and be a valued member working closely in a collaborative, autonomous, cross-functional team. You will help with the following:

• Ensure the resilience and robustness of Python code for model execution, including the ability to handle system restarts and other interruptions.
• Write clean, well-organized, and maintainable code for long-term sustainability.
• Collaborate with machine learning specialists to understand model requirements and with infrastructure experts to align model deployment strategies.
• Implement best practices for version control, documentation, and testing to maintain high-quality code standards.
• Continuously evaluate and incorporate new technologies or approaches to enhance model performance and cost-efficiency.
• Communicate your needs clearly and responsibly.
  

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• 4+ years of experience in deploying and optimising machine learning models, preferably with a focus on computer vision.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Understanding of containerisation and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Proven ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
