ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Director of Accounting / Assistant Controller, you will work with the Head of Finance in managing technical areas of accounting including Income Tax Provision and Stock Based Compensation as well as leading special projects related to specific areas of Accounting and working with external consultants (ie audit and tax). This role will also lead the month end close process and collaborate with the team members to ensure timeliness of month end close.

The Director of Accounting / Assistant Controller will

  • Lead month end close process which includes ensuring timeliness and completeness of close tasks in Floqast as well as provide suggestions for improvements to maximize accuracy and efficiency of month end close
  • Manage the AP team and related processes which includes managing Stampli (invoice system) and engaging with various stakeholders in managing in managing weekly payments
  • Manage time & expenses (T&E) process including approving expenses in Abacus (T&E system)
  • Work directly with the External Auditor completing year end audit including managing requests from planning to year end fieldwork 
  • Work with Tax Consultants in managing monthly state and local tax returns for all jurisdictions (US, Canada, and Netherlands) 
  • Prepare and develop month end financial statement analysis 
  • Prepare financial statements as well as related documentation and schedules such as stock based compensation expense and income tax provision to support year end audit
  • Drive the establishment and implementation of the subsidiary’s general ledger
  • Be a subject matter expert for complex account balances, including (but not limited to) Internally Developed Software and Stock Based Compensation ensuring compliance with US GAAP 
  • Participate in other projects and other duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • 7+ years’ experience in industry and/or public accounting (Big 4 experience preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and communication skills
  • Be comfortable working in a rapid change environment and dealing with ambiguity
  • Self motivated with the ability to work independently

COMPENSATION

In addition to the benefits above, this role has a pay range between $170-200k + equity. This pay range represents what we believe, in good faith, this role will pay.
