Job Description: Coordinates and analyzes program metrics, identifying opportunities for sales teams. Prepares sales forecasts and collects and analyzes data to evaluate progress towards key sales performance indicators (sales, margin, penetration, etc.). Recommends changes to current sales techniques, products and services, procedures, and promotional efforts based on market research and new trends. Coordinates data and reporting needs for margin programs and projects.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and runs reports on margin and sales trends.  Reviews and reports on sales team performance against key indicators.

  • Identifies key opportunities for sales teams, creating reports, developing relationships with key suppliers, and working with Supplier Relations and Category Management teams.  Makes recommendations on best course of action in which to proceed.

  • Creates collateral sales materials as needed to promote Owens & Minor products and Services.

  • Identifies areas of margin loss, providing recommendations to sales teams on possible resolutions.

  • Reviews survey results and makes recommendations on whether to move forward with account programs.

  • Tracks guaranteed savings and makes recommendations on managing inventory to ensure guarantees are met.  Makes recommendations to customers concerning increasing or decreasing par levels, removing slow moving items, configuration of stocking locations, etc. Assists with private label initiatives rollouts and provides follow-up and ad-hoc reporting to assure accuracy of pricing and margin data.

  • Develops and presents strategies for overcoming adverse market events such as product recalls, competitive forces, and sales gaps.

  • Provides market research information on new, potential, and existing business to educate Sales teammates and management.

  • Creates comprehensive sales analysis reports for customers and buy group.

  • Assists with organizing, writing, collecting and compiling data for RFP's through interaction with relevant internal teams.

  • Assists in analysis and development of business plans.

  • Maintains intimate knowledge of all Owens & Minor sales programs, assisting with promoting programs to targeted accounts as appropriate.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; concentration in Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Data Management preferred

  • One (1) or more years’ Sales Analyst experience, or in a financial/contract administration position with data management and data reporting responsibility

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to perform in a dual reporting relationship

  • Excellent data management skills

  • Strong PC skills with a good understanding of Excel, Word, Power BI and SalesForce

  • Planning and organizational skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Detail oriented mindset

  • Ability to work under structured supervision, independently, and as part of a team

  • General understanding of margins and margin trends

  • Demonstrated coordination and project management skills
