The Role

The Manager of Security Architecture, Identity, and Governance leads the design and implementation of the organization’s security architecture, with a focus on identity and access management (IAM) and governance frameworks. This role is responsible for establishing secure, scalable architectures; enforcing identity policies; and ensuring compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements. The Manager of Security Architecture, Identity, and Governance collaborates across teams to embed identity and governance best practices, mitigate risks, and safeguard critical information assets.
In this role you will be leading security professionals to address complex challenges, mentoring professionals in security concepts, and creating validation requirements to enhance security capabilities across projects and programs.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Architecture Design & Oversight
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive security architecture frameworks that support secure access and data protection across on-premises and cloud environments.
    • Provide technical direction and guidance on secure design principles, embedding security requirements within technology, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
    • Oversee IAM programs, policies, and technologies to ensure secure access controls, including role-based access, identity lifecycle management, and privileged access management.
    • Define and implement IAM governance policies, ensuring alignment with security frameworks and regulatory requirements, such as least privilege and zero-trust principles.
  • Governance & Compliance Management
    • Establish, enforce, and review security policies, standards, and guidelines to maintain compliance with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2).
    • Lead governance initiatives to validate adherence to security policies through audits, assessments, and policy-driven access controls.
  • Risk Management & Assessment
    • Conduct security risk assessments focusing on identity and access vulnerabilities, developing remediation plans to enhance IAM and architecture defenses.
    • Collaborate with IT, Compliance, and Risk teams to address identity-related risks within the organization’s broader security and risk management strategy.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Partner with IT, Compliance, Legal, and Product teams to integrate IAM and governance requirements into workflows, applications, and user provisioning processes.
    • Act as a primary point of contact for identity and governance-related security matters, ensuring cross-functional alignment on security priorities.
  • Strategic Planning & Security Roadmap
    • Define and drive the strategic roadmap for security architecture, IAM, and governance, aligning with business objectives and evolving cybersecurity standards.
    • Evaluate and adopt new IAM technologies, security solutions, and methodologies that enhance identity protection and governance capabilities.
  • Policy Development & Training
    • Develop and implement identity and governance policies and training programs to promote security awareness and a culture of compliance.
    • Maintain documentation for security architecture, IAM standards, and governance frameworks to ensure clarity and accessibility across the organization.


 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on security architecture, IAM, and governance, and at least 3+ years in a managerial role.
