As a Software Engineer you will work on a team of highly competent data engineers to Procure, Curate, Notify and Publish data for use in various commercial use cases:
- Procure - Work with other business units inside of 84.51˚ , Kroger and Third Parties to bring data fit for commercial use cases into the Commercial Insights and Loyalty ecosystem
- Curate - Collaborate with data scientists, business stakeholders, technical counterparts in other business units and legal/compliance stakeholders to define and ultimately implement data curation rules leveraging a modern cloud based tech stack
- Publish - Publish commercially vetted data in a consumable format and location for commercial use cases
- Notify - Leverage modern tech stack to proactively notify commercial data consumers about data anomalies
Responsibilities
- Participate in design and development of highly visible data solutions
- Support Commercial Facing data pipelines
- Perform unit and integration testing
- Collaborate with architecture and lead engineers to ensure consistent development practices and data architecture are applied
- Participate in retrospective reviews
- Participate in the estimation process for new work and releases
- Collaborate with other engineers to solve and bring new perspectives to complex problems
- Drive improvements in people, practices, and procedures
- Embrace new technologies and an ever-changing environment
Requirements
- 1+ years proven ability of professional Data Development experience
- Full understanding of ETL concepts and Data Warehousing concepts
- Comfortable with Relational Data Modeling
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and best practices
- Foundational Understanding of ANSI SQL
- Foundational Understanding of Cloud Processing Concepts
- Foundational Understanding of Agile Principles
- Exposure to interacting with and enhancing Cloud based services
- Passion for Problem Solving
- Passion for Learning and Development
- Passion for creating supportable technical solutions
- Experience communicating to and with functional colleagues

This is a Hybrid position. Candidates must be able to come into the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of each week. We have locations in Cincinnati, OH, Chicago, IL, Deerfield, IL, New York, NY, and Portland, OR. There are no remote options for this position.
