About the role

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS                                   

Responsible for the completion of SW Construction Projects monthly close tasks, including but not limited, to Building Our Future (BOF) HQ and R&D

  • Ensure all partner invoices are received timely and accurately billed using audited rates and actual costs related to construction contracts
  • Participate in various confidential project planning meetings gathering insights on how decisions may impact overall costs and benefits to the projects and Company
  • Maintain documentation of estimated costs of various cost models and version history for documenting decision making

Record and analyze various accounting records

  • Account for capitalized costs directly related to various construction projects
  • Allocate general costs related to overall construction projects

Responsible for managing Project financial reporting compilation and distribution

  • Compile and distribute monthly close reports by partner and total for each Project including comparison to budget and forecast to Executive Management and Project Leadership Team
  • Reconcile and provide variance explanations for actuals compared to both budget and forecast
  • Compile monthly forecasts and provide variance explanations to previous forecasts

Support continuous audit efforts related to construction costs

  • Maintain on-going audit efforts for construction partners throughout the projects
  • Evaluate and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in partner onboarding efforts related to accounts payable system including ownership of MS Teams site storing legal documents, contracts, and invoice details; provide necessary documentation to support the audit efforts
  • Audit monthly invoices to be received by each partner

Support Department VP with other Finance Strategic Initiatives

  • Ability to professionally handle highly confidential financial information
  • Collaborate and support various SW teams on finance strategic initiatives including potential acquisitions, DT/IT integrations, and more
  • Complete various ad-hoc financial analysis requests

Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION: 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Experience with financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Familiarity with capital expenditure accounting and cost allocation methodologies.

Preferred:

  • Master’s or CPA preferred

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 2-4 years accounting or financial experience

Preferred:

  • Auditing, Oracle, Accounts Payable, MS Office, Coupa, Continuous Improvement, Project Management experience preferred

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Knowledge of Oracle and system consolidation
  • Ability to professionally handle highly confidential financial information
  • Superior communication skills to effectively deal with all levels of key executives and control/budget level managers
  • Ability to maintain adequate company-wide accounting processes, procedures and controls, and effectively guide and support financial professionals with varying skills to effectively and accurately maintain the general accounting systems and consolidation ledger for the company.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel 
  • Well organized

  • Strong analytical skills
