Position:  Maintenance Mechanic V

Shift: 3rd 

Compensation:  Hourly Non-exempt (wage may vary from $28.42 - $35.94 depending on qualifications and experience)

Employment Type: Full Time

Reports to:  Maintenance Manager

Education, Experience & Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-year minimum work experience
• Must know shop mathematics, able to interpret drawings, and be able to use tools required.
• Have good communication skills (both written and oral).
• Display positive attitude and teamwork skills.
•  Must complete a pre-employment and drug test.

•  Must be able to stand and walk up to 12 hours per day. Ability to frequently bend, lift and twist. Physical requirements must be able to lift 50-70 lbs. on a consistent basis.

• Must be able to work weekends and overtime.

 

Job Summary: Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following: Correct & safe operation of equipment & machinery, troubleshooting, engine maintenance, conveyors & systems.

Essential Functions:

• Must obey all safety, USDA, HACCP, and the plant rules and regulations.
• Must be an expert in all the following areas including use of related tools and equipment:
  • Electrical Wiring & Trouble shooting
  • Pipe Fitting/Plumbing
  • Welding
  • Shop Machinery
  • Sheet Metal
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatics
  • Electrical controls & instrumentation
  • Automatic Equipment Operation (setup, repair, and tear down)
  • PLC Troubleshooting/Operation and/or programming
  • Ammonia systems knowledge
• Candidate will be an expert in All of the areas listed above.
• Perform other related duties as required by management.

• Communicating with management when there are concerns with the Production: Safety and employee relations.

•  Performs other related duties as assigned to support production demands as may be specified by customer or client.

Working Conditions: High noise, varied temperatures (warm to cold), slippery floors, moving equipment and dust may be present.  Employees will wear personal protective equipment as necessary or required.

Brakebush Irving (TX) uses state-of-the-art equipment like DSI water jet cutters for precision sizing and portioning of raw product. They keep our national accounts and other plants well-stocked. This has led to the need to acquire a cold storage facility close by in Grand Prairie, TX.
