Summary:
As the 1st Shift Process Engineer Supervisor, you will lead a dynamic team in optimizing production processes, ensuring operational excellence, and driving process improvements. Your role will focus on managing and improving production systems, troubleshooting, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Your leadership responsibilities will include oversight, mentorship, and strategic direction for the following areas:
- Lead Maintenance Initiatives: Oversee the maintenance and optimization of machine systems, controls, and automation systems to ensure peak performance.
- Support Production Excellence: Manage and guide team efforts in troubleshooting and process improvements to support current production demands.
- Robotic Systems Leadership: Provide leadership in debugging Fanuc robotic code, ensuring smooth integration and operation within production processes.
- Quality Assurance Oversight: Monitor and verify quality through statistical processes or other control procedures, ensuring adherence to standards and driving continuous improvement.
- Problem Isolation and Analysis: Direct the isolation of complex problems, ensuring thorough analyses and implementation of effective solutions.
- Equipment and Process Testing: Supervise the testing of production and process conditions to verify optimal functionality.
- Automation Supervision: Oversee the operation of automatic and semi-automatic machines, ensuring smooth functioning in a continuous production/processing operation.
- Cycle Time and Efficiency Improvements: Lead activities aimed at reducing cycle time and enhancing process efficiency, incorporating lean methodologies and innovative strategies.
- Project Management: Manage projects from implementation through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, partnering with leadership, and utilizing data to inform decisions.
- Best Practices and Process Innovation: Collaborate with manufacturing leadership to develop, implement, and refine best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to boost production rates and output quality.
- Documentation Leadership: Ensure thorough and accurate documentation for troubleshooting, maintenance, and process improvements, providing clarity for Maintenance, Operators, and Production teams.
- Team Development and Training: Provide guidance and training for team members during start-ups, debugging efforts, and ongoing operations, fostering skill development and technical growth.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Oversee the diagnosis and resolution of issues in machine control systems, including electrical, robotic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic components.
- Preventive and Process Improvements: Research, recommend, and implement preventive measures and process improvements to ensure long-term operational excellence.
- Project Reviews and Recommendations: Supervise project completion, conduct thorough reviews, and make recommendations for future improvements and preventive strategies.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 3+ years in an automation technician or process engineering role.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to manage, mentor, and inspire teams.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize production machinery and processes.
- Comprehensive understanding of production systems, mechanical processes, and lean methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on team-building and collaboration.
Preferred:
- Experience with vision systems (Fanuc iRVision, Cognex Vision).
- PLC programming and troubleshooting expertise
