The Role:

The Associate Director/Director of Project Management (ElevateBio Technologies, Inc.; Waltham, MA) has responsibilities of leading key R&D projects in the ElevateBio R&D portfolio and supports the evolution of the R&D Program Management organization across the ElevateBio businesses. This individual will ensure cross-company alignment and enable successful delivery through strong organizational and leadership skillsets. The role requires working in collaboration with numerous functions in and outside of R&D at all levels of the organization and with external partners. Specific duties include: develop and maintain an integrated project plan (e.g. detailed Gannt, budget, resources, etc.) encompassing key project milestones and deliverables in alignment with company strategy and R&D objectives; in collaboration with technical project lead, lead cross-functional project team and R&D meetings as mechanism to set project goals, drive execution, make timely and effective decisions, identify and mitigate risks and bottlenecks, and communicate and adjust to changes; establish strong partnership with the technical project lead to shape the overall strategy, objectives and work plan for assigned projects internally and with key external technical and project management partners for partnered work; collaborate with finance and R&D functions to build detailed project budgets and budget scenarios; partners with finance for routine budget tracking and changes; present to R&D and ElevateBio management on project and program status and leads teams through key decisions and strategic planning; prepare routine communication and facilitate governance forums to support the R&D operating model, including project, program and portfolio reviews and partnered project governance meetings (e.g. Joint Steering Committees); lead R&D resource and timeline assessment of inbound and outbound business development opportunities; tracks deliverables for contractual obligations by internal and external teams; support development and implementation of program management standards; and continuously improve project management processes, tools, and project teams based on KPIs; implement improvements across R&D and partner groups. Telecommuting permitted within commuting distance of Waltham office.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or related Life Sciences discipline plus 6 years of Project Management experience in a drug development setting.
• Alternatively, will accept Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or related Life Sciences discipline plus 4 years of Project Management experience in a drug development setting.
• Strong communication skills with ability to build professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
• Strong experience with project management tools, including Smartsheets, Microsoft Project, OnePager.
