About the Role
We are looking for a detail-driven, collaborative and organized Director, SEC Reporting to join our dynamic, high-growth beauty company.
The Director, SEC Reporting will partner with various teams across the company to ensure accuracy and completeness of disclosures in the Company’s SEC filings, including the Forms 10Q, 10K, 8K and proxy statements. Our new Director will be responsible for drafting and processing changes to e.l.f.’s 10Q, 10K and 8K through filing with the SEC while partnering with legal on S-8 and other filings, as necessary. In this role you will monitor current activity of the FASB, SEC and other relevant authoritative bodies to identify impacts of new pronouncements and comment letters on the Company’s accounting policies and SEC filings while researching US GAAP, documenting thorough analysis and accounting treatment conclusions for non-routine areas.
The best candidates for this role will bring 10+ years in technical accounting SEC reporting roles, including supervision and management of accounting staff. We are also looking for someone with an active CPA along with a degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. You will need to bring public company experience to the team with consumer products company experience strongly preferred. You will also need to be a subject matter expert on US GAAP and SEC regulations for the preparation of filing of SEC reports and demonstrate a clear understanding of related authoritative literature governing financial reporting for public companies. Last, being able to embrace e.l.f.’s dynamic culture of executing with quality and speed to drive solutions is a must for any new hire in this role.

Responsibilities
- SEC Reporting
- Partner with various teams across the company to ensure accuracy and completeness of disclosures in the Company’s SEC filings, including the Forms 10Q, 10K, 8K and proxy statements
- Responsible for drafting and processing changes to e.l.f.’s 10Q, 10K and 8K through filing with the SEC
- Partner with legal on S-8 and other filings, as necessary
- Assist VP, Controller with preparing and documenting support for quarterly Disclosure Committee and Audit Committee
- Coordinate, schedule and maintain the reporting calendar ensuring filing within deadlines.
- Proactively determine and implement continuous improvement opportunities that will enable an efficient and effective SEC reporting close process
- Owner of financial reporting software, Workiva, used to prepare filings, including managing user access, and ensuring standard process
- Coordinate with GL team and prepare documentation/work file to support external reporting.
- Communicate with external auditors on audit requests and ensure compliance with SOX relating to corporate responsibilities for financial reporting
- Support the accuracy of financial earnings release on a quarterly basis
- Prepare disclosure checklists to support completeness of Forms 10Q and 10K in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with XBRL tagging requirements for all SEC filings
- Assist Investor Relations team as needed with investor engagement activities, including preparation materials
- Report writing in ERP system (SAP S4/HANA) for external reporting and support GL team, as needed
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks in support of the reporting process for e.l.f. Beauty
