Description
The UM-Flint School of Nursing has a LEO Lecturer opening for the fall 2026 semester, teaching NUR 377 - Trauma-Informed Care. This is a two-credit (13.33% effort) online asynchronous course in the RN to BSN program. The fall semester starts August 20, 2026.
Course description: This course is the introduction to the principles and practices of trauma-informed care and the impact it has across disciplines and settings. There is emphasis on awareness, sensitivity, and practical strategies for working with individuals who may have experienced trauma. There will be reflection on how your own personal trauma can affect the way you provide care and support to others.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Minimum MSN;
Previous Experience teaching or practicing in a healthcare setting;
Recent practice experience within the last two years as a nursing professional within an acute care environment;
Ability to distinguish and teach the concepts of secondary trauma stress;
Unencumbered RN License in the State of Michigan or eligible to apply
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience teaching in the online environment;
Active certification as a Trauma-Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN);
Current full-time status in nursing practice in the acute care environment (0.8 or higher status)
