General Laborer

Waste Connections is hiring a Laborer at our LRI 304th Street Landfill in Graham, Washington. This is not your average labor job — it’s a hands-on, high-energy role that requires strength, endurance, and a strong work ethic.

Position Details

• Job Type: Full-time, year-round
• Pay: $21.00 – $23.00/hour (based on experience)
• Schedule: Tues-Sat 9-5:30 + occasional Saturdays

This Job Is For You If You Can:

• Lift and carry 50–60 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
• Shovel, dig, and haul materials in all weather conditions
• Climb up and down steep landfill slopes with heavy tools and sandbags
• Work in extreme heat or cold without slowing down
• Stay on your feet for 8–10 hours a day
• Handle dirty, dusty, and odorous environments with a positive attitude

Key Responsibilities

• Perform physically demanding labor tasks across the landfill and transfer station
• Operate hand tools and light equipment (shovels, post hammers, picks, etc.)
• Direct traffic safely and assist customers on-site
• Support environmental systems for stormwater, landfill gas, and leachate control
• Maintain site cleanliness and safety standards

What You’ll Need

• 1+ year of experience in outdoor, physically demanding work
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Strong self-motivation and a commitment to safety
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check (safety-sensitive position)
• Willingness to assist at other sites if needed
