The Viral Disease Prevention and Services (VDPS) Branch within the Kentucky Department for Public Health protects and promotes the health of Kentuckians in the areas of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)/ Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) services, prevention, and surveillance. This work is interesting and critical to keeping Kentuckians healthy and ending the HIV epidemic. If you are a person who loves contributing to the health of populations, this is the job for you.
This is a federally funded time-limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non- merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provides professional support and administrative assistance
- Generates eligibility letters to communicate applicants' eligibility determination
- Data entry related to the clients' eligibility determination of multiple databases
- Provides administrative back up for eligibility staff
- Assists with data entry to maintain complete and accurate data for grant reporting
- Other duties as assigned
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Ability to multi-task
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and email
- Organizational skills
- Team player
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
One year of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
