We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Applications Developer to maintain, design, and build mission critical applications that support our Criminal Identification Division. This role is involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle and offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of projects using Microsoft technologies such as .NET Framework and .NET Core.

The IT Applications Developer/Senior position will work with NSP’s Criminal Identification Division to design, build, and maintain several enterprise level applications that support the operational needs of the division. Collaborate with other developers and business analysts while consulting with clients to gather requirements and develop technical specifications.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, SQL, C#, Git, Entity Framework, and .NET Framework or .NET 6+. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to existing applications, ensuring high availability and performance.
Participate in stand ups and code reviews to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Keep current with recent developments within the industry and new technologies. Review and incorporate best practices including object-oriented design, CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) security regulations, and NITC (Nebraska Information Technology Commission) standards related to application development.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years’ experience, educations or training in coding computer applications; programming experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: 3 years of work experience with Entity Framework, Microsoft SQL Server software development, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, SQL, C#, Git, .NET Framework, .NET 6+, and Agile development methodology, database reporting and object-oriented programming. Working knowledge of data warehouse tools, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Reporting Services, Team Foundation Server, SharePoint, and SharePoint services. Exceptional communication skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills. Strong documentation skills. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Other: A valid driver's license is required or ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
