Audio Engineer - Headsets and Loudspeakers (Hybrid)

The Audio Engineer will conduct product development of headsets and loudspeakers. In addition, the Audio Engineer will conduct technology development in the areas of electro-acoustics and related computing and simulation work for headsets and loudspeakers

Job Description

• Develop and implement new technologies including advanced algorithms to solve critical problems such as active noise reduction.
• Assist in establishing and improving acoustic simulation and measurement system.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers on co-development efforts.
• Develop optimized product solutions from conception to mass production through failure modes analysis, prototyping and design iterations.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that all requirements are met and the schedule and cost targets are achieved for assigned tasks.
• Conduct risk analysis, generate design validation and test plans.
• Development of tests and design verification for functional and reliability testing to meet agency and regulatory requirements.
• Design for manufacture optimization with factories and vendors, work with manufacturing to improve quality and costs and support sample builds.
• Document results through written reports and/or well-commented codes.
• Support product full life cycle, work with quality and service departments to solve ongoing quality issues should they arise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of industry experience in electro-acoustic and audio design.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of electroacoustics, audio, and empirical data acquisition methods.
• Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of analog-to-digital, digital-to-analog, and DSP technology.
• Intermediate to advanced experience in acoustic/mechanical simulation and scientific programming (Matlab, Mathematica, Python, C/C++, or similar).
• Advanced knowledge of product development best practices such as DOE, DFMEA, Lean PD, etc
• Excellent design, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Proven ability to perform complex engineering analysis and calculations.
• Proficiency with audio equipment such as analyzers and oscilloscopes.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work in fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to work with minimal guidance to make decisions and report progress.
• Ability to keep current with new technologies and industry trends.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
• Passion for music is a strong advantage
