The Senior Investment Reporting Analyst is responsible for preparing and reviewing U.S. Statutory (NAIC – National Association of Insurance Commissioners) reporting (investment schedules, IMR, AVR, RBC, footnotes) for investment portfolios for Empower, its subsidiaries, and affiliates. The analyst role requires a thorough understanding of investments, as well as the related accounting pronouncements and appropriate application to the investment portfolio. 

  

What you will do 

  • Prepare and review quarterly/annual statutory NAIC state financial reporting, supplements, annual audited financial statements and surveys

  • Interpret new pronouncements and guidelines issued by authoritative associations in relation to U.S GAAP, Statutory (NAIC), or various regulations 

  • Recommend appropriate changes to accounting systems and presentation of information 

  • Respond to audit requests for Investments and explain the Company’s position 

  • Monitor the reporting database and making adjustments where necessary 

  • Assist with private placement filings with the NAIC 

What you will bring 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business degree 

  • 4+ years financial reporting experience 

  • Proficient in MS Office, including advanced Excel skills 

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Statutory (NAIC) and/or GAAP accounting principles 

What will set you apart 

  • CPA preferred 

  • Public accounting experience preferred 

  • Previous experience in investments strongly preferred 

  • Strong technical and analytical skills with ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally 

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment 

  • Ability to utilize creativity thinking towards improvement of business processes and internal controls, and follow-thru in all stages from design into implementation 

  • Attention to detail, analytical acumen and excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple and competing priorities 

  • Self-driven with ability to deal with ambiguity, a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities 

  • Process improvement mindset 

  • Experience using Alteryx and Wings annual statement software

Base Salary Range

$80,100.00 - $113,175.00
