As a Client Operations Lead in the Custody and Accounting platforms, the role will involve supporting Client Account Services activities across Custody and Fund Accounting. This will include leading a team performing functions such as authentication, initiation and reference data setups across Custody and Accounting platforms. Additionally, the manager will be expected to contribute to a wider team, provide regular progress updates, maintain an understanding of client documents, approach their work with a control-mindset, and demonstrate an understanding/application of policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Individual with a go-getter attitude to be self-driven in approach towards understanding the various client static attributes, their significance and liaise with the owners of upstream and downstream systems across the bank, assesses the quality thereof through measurable indicators and suggests changes in terms of additions/modifications/deletions.
- Create an environment of co-operation and initiative through appropriate delegation, empowerment, training and motivation.
- Oversee the daily operations of the teams and provide support and guidance in accomplishing department goals, service levels and client deliverables.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, presenting them to senior management and helping to affect change.
- Review performance reports and dashboards across teams to ensure targets are met.
- Anticipate and resolve work concerns and exercise sound judgment to make appropriate adjustments as necessary.
- Contribute to the roll out and success of the Global processing initiative, working closely with colleagues in multiple locations globally, and ensure ongoing monitoring of control environment.
- Undertake ongoing and ad-hoc operational reviews, participate in global policy decisions, lead workshops to establish and modify operational workflows.
- Identify, recommend and assist in implementing enhancements where procedures, processes, controls and client servicing may be improved.
- Partner with the Data Quality Program Manager to implement the Data Quality (DQ) across reference data domains, inclusive of establishing attribute level Terms/Definitions, identification of Critical Data Elements (CDEs), definition of DQ rules across 6 DQ dimensions, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and DQ lifecycle remediation.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Experience with a team managing experience of minimum 5 years.
- Good understanding of the Securities Services business, with a Degree holder in Business/Accounting/Finance/Economics or any related course.
- Intensive work experience or knowledge of Custody processes and functions an advantage.
- Experience and subject matter expertise in servicing fund investments, both mutual and pension funds, a definite plus.
- Detailed understanding of the trade lifecycle, from execution through settlement and asset servicing.
- Expert analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills based upon fact and business/ industry knowledge. Ability to drive change autonomously and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Experience working across multiple business areas and/or functions to deliver results
- Very strong data analytics skills ideally gained though a proven ability to manage complex data sets using tools such as Tableau, Xceptor & Alteryx.
