Role Purpose

As a Senior Software Definition Engineer, you will lead the strategic planning and execution of product initiatives, overseeing the entire product lifecycle from conception to launch and beyond. This role involves setting product direction, refining vision, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will collaborate extensively with engineering teams, business, and other stakeholders to drive product success. Advanced market analysis, defining long-term product strategies, and identifying growth opportunities will be key responsibilities. Leadership and mentorship of junior product managers are also critical aspects of this role, as is the strategic management of product risks.

Specifically you will:

  • Lead definition phase to build the product backlog.
  • Lead refinements with development team in order to plan the delivery of value (sprint / iteration planning)
  • Collaborate with product managers and other key stakeholders to process some customer requests and prioritise the discovery backlog within.
  • Contribute as part of the Product Management Team to the preparation of the features/enablers backlog, ensuring preparedness for next Product Increments ( PI(s))
  • Socialise incoming features and enablers with the development team in order to elicit early feedback and preparedness for the next PI, in line with the PI objectives.
  • Continuously ensure that the prepared backlog consists of items which maximise value whilst minimising cost, requiring scoping correctly the features with input from architecture+security, development and UX concern.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated SW Definition Engineer who deeply cares about transforming healthcare and who is passionate about constantly finding ways to deliver value to our end users. You should be focussed on delivering software products with the highest levels of quality that would satisfy not only industry standards but as well the expectations of patients and customers.

Essentials skills for your mission:

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years on the job experience in software product management related roles (ideally following SAFe framework).
  • Proven experience as a software product owner or manager, preferably in the medical device or diagnostics/healthcare software industry.
  • A strong desire to understand and learn about global customer needs
  • The proficiency to perform skilled stakeholder management and negotiation to guide the product definition to a successful outcome
  • Experience in large, international, and complex development projects.
  • You enjoy guiding and sharing your knowledge with other engineers
  • Great written and verbal communication in English and Spanish

Bonus skills:

  • Understanding of medical, security, and privacy regulations
  • Knowledge of the diagnostics and laboratory workflows or other comparable health industries
