Posting Range Compensation: $60,000 to $65,000


The Associate Director, Compliance and Recruitment will support the Chief Human Resources and Training Officer (CHRTO) in driving improvements in health and wellness, retention, employee development, compliance, networking and non Early Learning Center (ELC) recruiting. This position will provide support and facilitative duties in the areas of training, performance reviews, and HR events, and as a trusted position to support YWCA.


Essential Functions of the Job:

Mission Driven Culture:

  • Partner with CHRTO to ensure seamless integration of HR policies and processes that promotes a cultural of eliminating racism, empowerment, peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all;
  • Assist with and conduct new hire orientation for New Hires, interns, volunteers, and contractors;
  • Prepare and process appropriate enrollments/ employee change form (i.e., terminations, promotion, demotion, lateral move, and status change), after obtaining appropriate signatures;
  • Schedule and perform exit interviews.

Recruitment

  • Support and collaborate with CHRTO to position YWCA Hartford Region as the Employer of Choice by building candidate pipeline for hard to fill positions;
  • Attend networks, universities/ colleges career fairs and programs;
  • Meet with community leaders and community organizations to promote YWCA’s open positions;
  • Create, promote, and execute an onsite YWCA job/ career fair;
  • Prescreen, interview, hire, and onboard new hires;
  • Create a positive work environment through employee engagement to revitalize and generate employee referrals.

Compliance and Training

  • Exercise confidentiality at all-time both internally and externally;
  • Develop and assist the CHRTO with preparation of mandatory trainings and survey initiatives;
  • Provide ongoing management trainings— i.e., policies and procedures, wellness, compliance, employment law, employee engagements, and mid management and non management development and skills;
  • Partner with department leaders to identify critical training and present to CHRTO for recommendations and approval;
  • Educate staff on YWCA’s policies and procedures, EEO compliance, including updates, outcomes, and violations.

Leave of Absence and Workers Compensation:

  • Initiate personal leave requests for staff and inform them of their rights and responsibilities;
  • Capture new and active Workers Compensation claims and ensure proper documentation is done in a timely manner;
  • Manage communication with Workers Compensation and communicate return to work plans with managers;
  • Assist managers and staff in reporting work-related injuries to workers’ compensation initiate.

Strategic Support

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with YWCA's mission and goals;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree concentration preferably in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Social Service, DEI, or related field.

Experience

  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in an HR, training, recruiting, counseling role required;
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in recruitment, compliance, EEO, safety, DEIB, or leadership training required;
  • Nonprofit experience is preferred but not required;
  • Demonstrated knowledge in employment law, HR practices, and DEIB;

License or Certifications:

  • HR, Sourcing, Training, Benefits, DEIB, SHRM-CP, SCP or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
