Objective of the position:
Be part of a multinational project team to optimize Transportation Logistics Procurement activities in the essential Material Supply Chain area for all Daimler Truck entities in North America. The Transportation Procurement team is responsible to manage the transportation service budget of DTNA, providing the most comprehensive and cost effective inbound and outbound freight network solutions possible through direct business assignment with best-in-class carriers and service providers who utilize our amazing Freightliner and Western Star vehicles equipped with Daimler Truck technology.
Indispensable Requirements (Candidates who do not meet these requirements may be discarded):
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Ability to organize and summarize large data sets
- Contractual knowledge and business acumen, involving stakeholder alignments between multiple business.
- High level of inter-cultural intelligence and people skills.
- Transportation, Logistics and/or Purchasing experience
- Knowledge of OEM vehicle manufacturing preferred / Market
- Self-directed, able to operate independently with business professionalism and strong work ethic

Academic Knowledge: BS/BA and prefer 2-4 years of relevant experience or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree. Engineering Supply Chain and Logistics Management, Operations and/or Purchasing emphasis degree or similar.

Main Functions:
- Primary support of the procurement and optimization of the transportation supply chains used for delivery of production and aftermarket parts in the North America Region.
- Execute the goals and milestones of the work projects, including but not limited to planning, procurement and contract management for transportation logistics services at TT/GN7.
- Support the purchasing of transportation services in all aspects including, but not limited to, conceptual development, data gathering and validation, creation of tender specifications, bidder list creation, tendering and negotiation with transportation service providers, alignment of recommendations, decision process support with steering committee/top management presentations.
