Zearn is seeking a Professional Learning Operations Director to lead the rapidly scaling Professional Development Operations team that supports hundreds of thousands of educators in leading math instruction that helps all kids love learning math. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing the professional development delivery system to successfully support teachers and administrators using Zearn Math in their classrooms. You will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and educational experts to deliver effective professional learning experiences.You will oversee each moment of the PD delivery flow: from booking and scheduling to its effective delivery, paying attention to crucial details that arise, considering the interdependencies and critical trade-offs needed along the way. In this role, you will lead the execution of a centralized scheduling system, tracking PD delivery, reporting, internal trainer readiness, and other projects throughout the customer journey in order to proactively anticipate and adaptively address any potential challenges, transforming them into opportunities to ensure seamless, engaging, and successful training experiences for our partners. You will work closely with internal teams to identify the best tools to meet the needs of a changing landscape and to consolidate and streamline operations. Finally, you will foster a culture of development and improvement for an in-house team of facilitators, offering skills-based apprenticeship, providing clarity in their role expectations, and ensuring each facilitator precisely knows the content of Zearn and can facilitate in a way that is engaging and inspires hearts and minds.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and coach a team of trainers to deliver high quality and inspiring training:
- Act as a coach and apprentice to a growing team of 10-20 facilitators, including managers and facilitators.
- Ensure appropriate supports are in place for ongoing evaluation and feedback of our presentations based on partner feedback
- Monitor feedback to ensure all partners receive a best in class experience
- Champion a transparent team environment by setting and maintaining clear guidelines around role expectations and regularly engaging in impactful decision making
- Build adaptivity within the professional learning facilitation team, enhancing the team’s ability to customize facilitation as needed in the moment based on factors such as audience, user case, and time
- Cultivate a culture of problem-solving, empowering the team to address unexpected issues in real-time and deliver high-quality training experiences
- Model excellent facilitation by leading a variety of training sessions both onsite and virtually
2. Manage partnerships with professional learning organizations to ensure the delivery of trainings that meet Zearn’s quality standards:
- Implement, manage, and refine an end-to-end booking system that allows Zearn Math to fulfill all contractual agreements, allow self-serve booking by partners, and assess the impact and effectiveness of the training experience
- Spearhead the creation of contingency plans designed to ensure Zearn's partners always receive an excellent training experience, anticipating and planning for the unexpected / unpredictable
