Mental health disorders can take a serious toll on the mind and body. When depression, psychosis, addiction, or other mental health factors reach extreme heights, the patient could be in danger of hurting themselves or others. Meritus Health has an 18-bed adult inpatient unit which admits patients 24 hours a day through the hospital's Emergency Department or by physician referral.
The Clinical Manager maintains 24 hour accountability for area of service. Provides administrative and financial accountability for planning, directing, staffing, coordinating, and controlling functions and activities for areas of service. Participates in the development of the nursing strategic plan. Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, and the delivery of patient and family centered care. Promotes a caring, healing environment for patients, families and staff. Responsible as a leader for the day to day management of assigned areas. Provides clinical support to staff. Supervises staff in their delivery of care and evaluation of results. Adheres to ethical principles of practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Addresses breaches in clinical or ethical standards. Responsible for provisions of services consistent with the mission and goals of the system, meeting or exceeding quality outcomes, regulatory and financial goals.
Education – BSN required. MSN preferred.
Experience – A minimum of 5 years of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health setting is required.
Licensure/Certification – Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland required. Professional Certification in Nursing Leadership or area of clinical specialty preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Ability to apply the standards of professional nursing leadership with compassion and empathy. Advanced computer skills including use of Microsoft Office components required. Must possess high level of organizational and communication skills.
