Associate Director, Information Security Transformation & Portfolio Management

We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Associate Director, Information Security Transformation & Portfolio Management to support the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in managing the organization's cybersecurity activities. This role will act as a key liaison between the CISO, the security team, and other departments, ensuring efficient operations and effective communication of security initiatives across the organization.
IDEXX’s information security (InfoSec) cyber security (cybersecurity) group consists of 30+ talented individuals managing security operations, incident response, government risk & compliance policies, application security, vulnerability management and all things information security.
In this role, you will be responsible for…
- Strategic planning and execution of the Information Security Cybersecurity roadmap: You will assist the CISO in developing and implementing the organization's cybersecurity strategy and InfoSec transformation. Coordinate and track progress on key security initiatives and projects. Identify and help resolve obstacles to strategy execution
- Portfolio Management: You will oversee the information security portfolio management. Ensure alignment of security projects with overall business objectives. Manage resource allocation and budget for security initiatives. Prepare InfoSec roadmaps and drive activities forward.
- Communication and Liaison: You will act as a primary point of contact between the CISO's office and other departments. Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and reports on security matters. Facilitate communication between the security team and other business units
- Metrics and Reporting: You will develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for the security function. Prepare regular reports on security posture, risks, and program progress for executive leadership.
- Governance and Compliance: You will assist in the development and maintenance of security policies and standards. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Coordinate internal and external security audits.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: You will manage relationships with key security vendors and partners. Engage with stakeholders across the organization to promote security initiatives
- Team Leadership and Development: You will support the CISO in managing and developing the security team. Facilitate team meetings and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Process Improvement: You will identify opportunities for improving security processes and operations. Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the security function
What you will need to Succeed:
- You have 7-10+ years of experience leading large, multi-dimensional, complex technology projects with a large element of transformation and change management involved
- You have direct experience delivering transformations and all of the change management, communication and education involved in creating that transformation
- You possess exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships and motivating teams towards common goals.
- Information Security/Cybersecurity program experience is a strong plus but not required
- You possess a demonstrated ability to adapt and excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, showing flexibility in methodologies and approaches.
- You excel at developing processes and standardizing operational workflows, adeptly identifying challenges and strategically influencing procedures and policies.
- You have proficiency in program and project management tools, with an adaptability to new technologies and methodologies.
- You have a Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to run programs and projects that have large element of change management involved
- You have a solid background in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) is a plus
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus

- Base annual salary target: $150000 - $180000 (yes, we do have flexibility if needed)
