Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Puget Sound KC-46 Service Engineering Manager has responsibility for all engineering activities, Integration and technical integrity for in-service support, and service engineering activities for the KC-46 Fleet.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • This management position will manage a group of approximately 15 employees who provide technical responses to USAF and international fleet inquiries within contract turnaround time requirements as well as development of service actions. 
  • This manager develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, related metrics and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes and leads process improvements.
  • Achieves goals for cost, schedule, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provides technical direction and guidance regarding approved processes, tools, technology and skills for own projects or processes. 
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees. Keeps management and team informed by communicating daily status, metrics, progress to plan and listening to employee concerns and suggestions.
  • Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations. 
  • The candidate must be able to manage a high performing team in a cross-functional work environment including engineering, quality, product support, FAA Certification and Program Management. The candidate must be able to drive process improvement and first time quality across a diverse team.
  • The candidate must have strong business acumen and be able to work at senior levels of the business; including United States Air Force and International KC-46 customers.

Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):  

  • Bachelors, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in a STEM field
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline
  • Experience as a technical lead for an engineering team
  • Able and willing to travel 20% of the time domestically

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Experience in post-production systems with emphasis in military aircraft sustainment, repairs, and modification programs  
  • Experience leading a diverse multi-functional team
  • Experience working with Military or DoD customers.

Typical Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Hybrid/Telecommute:

This Hybrid position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Seattle, WA. Everett, WA. Tukwila, WA. Oklahoma City, OK. Hazelwood, MO. St. Charles, MO. Berkley, MO.).
