Senior Accountant

VPG is seeking a Senior Accountant who supports our General Ledger accounting functions

This is an onsite role in Poestenkill, NY!

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end close processes and prepare financial performance analyses (comparing actual results to budget, forecast, and prior periods)
• Upload month-end data to TM1 and reconcile with QuickBooks accounting system
• Oversee accounts receivable, including project accounting reconciliation
• Manage fixed asset accounting
• Support the audit process
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and close processes for Dynamic Systems
• Maintain successful compliance with all SOX and Internal Control processes
• Work independently on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative
• Analyze implications of work and recommend appropriate solutions
• Complete other projects as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience, including full-charge accounting period close
• 3-6 years of related financial accounting experience
• Practical knowledge of non-integrated ERP systems
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills

• Base Salary: $80,000 - $85,000

The estimated salary range allows for candidates with various levels of skills and experience to be considered, as well as provides room for growth achieved within the role over time. Any offer extended to a candidate or salary increase consideration for a current employee will be based on the individual’s unique set of knowledge, skills, education, experience and geographic location, as well as internal equity.
