About the role

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine installations, repairs, construction, and replacement of equipment.  Uses a variety of hand and power tools.  Determines extent of repairs needed, requests assistance from Corporate Physical Assets Manager for any problems beyond area of knowledge or expertise.  Follows verbal or written instructions.  Responsible for performing general cleaning, landscaping, and maintenance tasks within or on the physical properties of the Bank. Adheres to established security procedures and reporting requirements and complies with established bank procedures and practices. Conducts relationships and activities consistent with established Bank policies, procedures and systems, the corporate code of conduct, Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Confers with supervisor at start of each shift to determine work priorities, supplies required, and discusses work to be performed.

Participates in renovation, remodeling, construction & repair projects.

Performs minor repairs to building fixtures, performs minor plumbing repairs, cleans electrical fixtures, replaces lighting fixtures/bulbs, and performs painting projects as assigned by supervisor.

Performs preventive maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisor (i.e., HVAC filters, care of vault doors, ATM cleaning, etc.)

Performs landscaping duties including trimming, weeding, planting, and watering.

Treats and removes snow and ice on/from sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots. This includes spreading ice melt, shoveling, and sweeping snow and ice.

Lifts, removes, and delivers furnishings, equipment and supplies as needed.

Assists the Marketing department with promotional projects as needed.  This includes tent and booth setups, the displaying of signs and banners, event support, etc.

Works with the Operations staff in the placement and care of ATMs needed at events in and around the area.

Maintains any bank vehicle in his/her care.

Provides all in-house labor needed for the routine safe deposit box keying work.  Pulls and reinstalls locks in conjunction with a lock & key vendor who makes the appropriate keying changes required.

Acquires and maintains a thorough understanding of security procedures and practices established procedures. Maintains prescribed security controls to protect the bank and/or warehouse from unnecessary risk or exposure. Secures lights and doors.

Acts as a key element in the overall maintenance department mission of guarding the bank customer's privacy by strictly monitoring the security of the on-premises shred bins, to empty them regularly, and in accordance with clearly defined procedures, to maintain the security of the contents until such time as the bank’s shredding vendor receives the contents.

Always demonstrates a thorough understanding of safety procedures.

Assists Corporate Physical Assets Manager with regular audit and control functions.

Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, efficiency, and customer service.

Completes or attends all required training.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists others in the department as needed.  May be assigned other duties and responsibilities. May be assigned work or training at other assigned locations.

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver’s license and have the ability travel to any 20 of our locations

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

High school education and 1-2 years of job-related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently. 

Interpersonal skills necessary to courteously work with coworkers and supervisor to provide information, service, and other assistance, and to positively represent the bank.

Ability to operate office equipment including computers, calculators/adding machines, telephones, voicemail, copy/printer/fax machines and security devices.

Ability to operate a broad spectrum of hand and power tools.  Demonstrates familiarity and skill with landscaping tools.  Able to use ladders, scaffolding, etc. safely and effectively.

Ability to drive a vehicle. Must maintain a current, valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for bank insurance purposes.

Ability to read, write, and speak English. Effective oral and written communication skills.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
