Grand Canyon University's Student Success department is currently seeking a part time a Center for Workforce Development Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator oversees the Pre-Electrician Pathway in a part-time capacity, managing student success and coordinating with faculty, administration, and industry partners. The role involves assisting with program documentation, event planning, and social media promotion, while supporting students and maintaining operational processes.
Location: 9439 Research Blvd. Austin, TX
Schedule: Monday through Thursday 5pm-9pm onsite, 16 hours per week
What you will do:
Program Data Reporting- Electronically tracking student participation, reporting demographics, and inputting grade reports. Serve as classroom liaison between instructors and students. Tracking alumni job retention.
Event Planning and Coordination- Organize trades night events once a month. Design new student orientation and graduation ceremony once a semester. Facilitate site visits with industry partners.
Social Media Development- Post on LinkedIn: student activities, events, site visits and fairs. Other social media platform knowledge preferred.
Recruitment/Enrollment- Attend/participate in local evening career/college fairs. Identify local potential recruitment events.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Equipment and programs needed to function in the job (e.g., scanner/printer)
Have passion and willingness to help others succeed.
Ability to quickly grasp and utilize new concepts and technologies – video/filming and social media capabilities are highly desired.
Exceptional ability to organize information and pay attention to detail.
Possess strong ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – written, in person and via phone; maintaining a professional, composed manner when interacting with internal and external customers.
Possess a strong ability to handle the stress of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing time to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Excels in a team environment while able to complete some autonomous projects.
What you will have:
High School Diploma / GED Required
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an administrative capacity for a large department/function
Experience managing/coordinating multiple projects preferred.
Previous mentoring, advising, event operations, or office experience a plus.
Must pass a pre-employment background investigation.
Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record
Ability to speak a second language a plus.
Trade skills and experience preferred
