Job Summary
The Chief Product Officer (CPO) owns the product strategy: to ensure product integrity, drive financial sustainability and deliver service excellence. The CPO leads the product teams and works across the matrix organization to continuously evaluate product performance and our portfolio of products, service and program offerings to identify current and/or future opportunities that further evolve and improve product line performance and achieve growth and retention. The CPO is expected to drive top and bottom-line growth through understanding market needs, the competitive landscape and the needs of varying consumer segments. This position drives efforts to meet and exceed consumer expectations for the end to end member experience across all lines of business at L.A. Care Health Plan. Lines of business include Medi-Cal (MCLA), Plan Partners, Cal MediConnect (CMC), L. A. Care Covered (LACC), L.A. Care Covered Direct (LACCD), and Personal Assistance Services Council (PASC-SEIU) Home Care Workers Health Care Plan and where applicable, all segments within each product line. The CPO oversees the development of the sales/marketing strategy and product positioning to ensure L.A. Care product lines represent the face of our brand which is a key component of the customer experience and organizational innovation. This role oversees Strategic Planning and Community Benefits in identifying strategic opportunities, issues and/or research to maximize L.A. Care's strategic goals and enhance its public image.
Duties
Responsible for all product related activities within the organization. Represents the single voice for all product lines bringing together the strategic objectives and initiatives developed by executive product leaders across all lines of business to ensure alignment with the overall product vision and enterprise strategy.
Collaborates with executive product directors to ensure the needs of our customers and providers are identified and both short and long term solutions are developed to address the needs and close the gaps.
Represents the product organization to ensure foundational building blocks (i.e. network, operations, health services, etc.) that support the core functionality of the product lines continue to evolve and are scalable to accommodate changing market demands. Ensures the continuous improvement of product performance as well as ongoing compliance with regulatory and legislative guidance and mandates.
Leads their team of executive product directors to drive for compliant, accurate benefit plan administration and efficient delivery of products and services to members and providers. Under the leadership of the CPO, product teams will Identify synergies for initiatives across all lines of business to maximize growth and retention.
Ensures alignment with product governance driving development and execution cross functionally working closely with key stakeholder partners within the organization. Drives the transformation of separate product line domains to the establishment of a product governance model bringing one voice, vision and strategy to L.A. Care’s portfolio of products.
Responsible to establish the Product Governance group to enable the product development life cycle process ensuring alignment across the enterprise of key stakeholder executive leadership for new product concepts, ideas, programs and services. Collaboration with senior leadership representing the Business Enablement Team (BET) and Business Relationship Directors to refine and develop an integrated product to delivery model. Drive for alignment of strategic goals and objectives between product teams and sales/marketing in support of the L. A. Care brand, growth and retention.
