Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions (BEWS) is the group responsible for leading Ericsson’s Enterprise Networking and Security business. How Will You Contribute to the Company?
Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions is seeking an energetic and hands-on Senior Director of Engineering to lead the development of our NetCloud Manager Applications. In this role, you will guide multiple teams in advancing our NetCloud Platform, focusing on delivering solutions that manage the full lifecycle of both current and future networking products. Your responsibilities will include evolving the platform's architecture to support comprehensive network management while enhancing intuitiveness and AI capabilities. You will collaborate closely with Product Management to define the product roadmap and work with top industry talent in a dynamic and innovative setting. This position is available at our headquarters in Boise, Idaho, or our Silicon Valley office.
What Will You Do?
Recruit, coach, and retain top engineering talent. Manage ongoing performance, provide career development opportunities, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the engineering team.
Collaborate closely with the executive team and Product Management to understand the product vision and strategy for NetCloud. Develop engineering strategies that align with this vision, set clear success metrics, and ensure that engineering solutions address user needs and challenges effectively.
Analyze usage metrics and customer feedback to guide engineering improvements and feature enhancements. Use these insights to prioritize development tasks, ensuring the platform evolves to deliver an intuitive and user-friendly experience.
Apply AI/Ops methodologies to automate platform operations. Ensure that engineering efforts provide measurable value to users by enhancing automation and operational efficiency.
Partner with Product Management to perform ROI analysis on further investments in the SaaS platform. Focus on reducing operational costs while enhancing application performance, security, and user experience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, support, marketing and compliance, partnerships, finance. Ensure that engineering efforts are aligned with broader product lifecycle plans and business objectives.
Evaluate engineering priorities, making informed decisions about development focus. Justify choices with data, analysis, and business objectives to stakeholders.
Define clear expectations and milestones for engineering initiatives using iterative development methodologies. Regularly update stakeholders on progress and strategic objectives to ensure alignment with overall goals.
Stay updated on the competitive landscape and industry trends to guide engineering decisions and identify opportunities for differentiation.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Ten (10+) years of experience in software engineering and development with five to seven (5-7) years in a leadership role managing SaaS software development teams, preferably in network management solutions
Expertise in designing, developing, and managing SaaS applications with scalability, reliability, and security, including understanding of cloud infrastructure, microservices and multi-tenant architectures
Proficiency in modern development languages and frameworks commonly used in SaaS environments (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) relevant to SaaS applications
Ability to define and implement the strategic vision for SaaS network management solutions, aligning with overall business goals
