POSITION SUMMARY:

The individual in this position participates actively in the management team of the Bureau of Business Systems Engineering, including consulting with the Director, Deputy Director, Bureau Chiefs, and other program leaders on the formulation of overall goals and objectives, policy and operational issues, special projects, and budgets. This position provides supervision, project management services and support for the agency, by managing, tracking, reporting, analyzing, and advising on projects and services. The individual in this position is responsible for development projects and business management of all resources available to support the section. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Planning and administering Section functions, including direct management, supervision, motivation, and coordination of the section members;
  • Prioritizing projects, planning workloads, identifying objectives, and reporting progress;
  • Planning, coordinating, and participating in the research, evaluation, development, and implementation of Java based systems;
  • Leading major projects to include management, monitoring and tracking of on-going projects;
  • Reviewing and providing recommendations for approval of project milestones and deliverables;
  • Identifying risks to project completion by monitoring scope, budget and critical path deviations and provide risk mitigation recommendations to Division Leadership;
  • Performing studies and evaluating new/enhanced software products that improve productivity as well as improving the effectiveness of resource management;
  • Preparing or overseeing work products as appropriate;
  • Developing policies and procedures relating to Information Technology Services and Systems; and
  • Determining the impact of existing and proposed laws, rules, and regulations on existing and developmental programs.

 

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. At least two years of IT project management experience and experience leading a development team.
