About the role

Description

The Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University seeks applications for the Rufus Isaacs Postdoctoral Fellowship.  A non-tenure position with a start date of July 1, 2025, the initial appointment for the position is for two years and can be extended for a third year based on satisfactory performance. The teaching load for this position is three courses per academic year.

Candidates are required to have received a Ph.D. degree or equivalent by the start of this appointment and may have up to three years of prior academic and/or postdoctoral research experience.  Applicants should have strong research potential and a commitment to teaching, and their field of research should be consistent with the current research interests of the departmental faculty.  The expected salary range for this position is $62,500 to $78,000.  The referenced salary range is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will be based on factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate – e.g., years in rank, training, field, discipline, other work experience, and other similar factors; geographic location; internal equity; external market conditions; and other factors as reasonably determined by the University. The successful candidate will also be provided with professional development funds. The position comes with fringe benefits which include health insurance.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting.  Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.  The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
