Development Finance Manager

Our client, a real estate development and investment firm, is in search of a Development Finance professional to join their team. This role sits at the center of the development finance function, owning cash flow models, budgets, and investor reporting for active projects. The position works directly with senior leadership and is a high-visibility role that directly impacts project and portfolio decisions.

Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and audit cash flow models and business plans across active development and entitlement projects; use that analysis to inform decision-making.
- Own the annual budgeting process and prepare monthly variance reports.
- Conduct competitive and submarket market research, analyze broader market conditions, and translate findings into actionable insight.
- Prepare entitlement presentations and supporting materials for partners and investors.
- Support underwriting and due diligence on prospective acquisitions to help grow the development pipeline.
- Prepare quarterly investor reports and monthly internal leadership presentations.
- Improve and maintain the team's financial models, templates, and analytical tools on an ongoing basis.
- Take on cross-departmental and operational analyses as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in real estate development, real estate investment, or a comparable real estate analyst role.
- Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., ability to build and stress-test financial models independently).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in multifamily real estate.
- Demonstrated ability to turn complex financial data into clear, decision-ready materials.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce investor-quality deliverables.
- Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Collaborative working style with a track record of follow-through and proactive communication.
