We serve patients of all ages and orthopedic conditions, from high school athletes to older adult joint replacements, and just about everything in between. OC Sports & Rehab is looking for a physical therapist assistant (PTA) to assist in the treatment of patients as directed by the physical therapist.  


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides treatment to patients as directed by the Physical Therapist 
  • Explains the physical therapy procedures and equipment to patients and checks for understanding 
  • Instructs patients, families, and caregivers in physical therapy interventions, modalities, and home exercise programs 
  • Documents patient care services by charting in EMR according to guidelines in a timely manner 
  • Assists with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area and practice 
  • Implement patient treatment plans with guidance from Physical Therapist 
  • Reports all changes to patient’s condition to the Physical Therapist as immediacy dictates 

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing 
  • Strong problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information 
  • Strong computer skills 
  • Knowledgeable of state practice acts and ensures the level of supervision they receive meets standards 
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and physiology  


Education and Experience

  • Graduate from a Physical Therapy Assistant program 
  • Current licensure as Physical Therapy Assistant in California 
  • 1+ years of experience as a PTA, outpatient experience preferred 
  • Current CPR Certification
