Job Summary

The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will develop and manage the cyber security program for all of Urban Grid. This position will proactively ensure that security designs, controls, and procedures are compliant with all applicable regulations, aligned with industry standards and are appropriate to mitigate cyber security risk. The Cyber Security Analyst will also monitor the information security environment and identify security issues, determine causes, and develop/implement procedures to prevent future incidents. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide compliance oversight, guidance, and direction necessary to maintain ongoing compliance with NERC CIP cyber security and other industry standards and applicable regulations. 
  • Develop a cyber security program that protects all of the company’s systems and assets, covering both hardware and software. 
  • Develop and support new tools and capabilities needed to perform risk assessments, monitor our assets and support asset management on a broad scale. Work with Compliance Analyst & auditors to conduct security audits and risk assessments. 
  • Identify gaps in our incident response plan, risk assessment strategy and common reporting framework to track how well we are managing cyber security risk.  
  • Perform assessments of cyber security risk within our network, systems and software applications. 
  • Research attempted security breaches and address security weaknesses. 
  • Support internal clients through continuous improvement and providing standard and consistent service levels. 
  • Ensure that all employees and contractors comply with cyber security policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain and update documented cyber security policies and procedures. 
  • Manage cyber security vendors.  
  • Provide NERC CIP compliance expertise. 

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience. 
    • 4-8 years of cyber security experience. 
    • CISSP preferred. Other security certifications are a plus. 
    • Solar power industry and NERC experience is a plus. 
    • Excellent understanding of the latest security exploits. 
    • Strong knowledge of network and server architecture and protocols. 
    • Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of company employees. 
    • Ability to work independently and self-motivated. 
    • Strong work ethic and exceptionally high work standards. 
    • Must have strong organizational capacity to simultaneously manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
