FTR/Nodal Senior Trader

What You Can Expect
As a Financial Transmission Tights (FRT)/Nodal Senior Trader in Houston, you will report to Head of Congestion desk and deploy nodal trading strategies. Independent System Operator’s (ISO’s) include but not limited to Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) and Pennsylvania-New Jersey Interconnection (PJM).
- Deploy fundamentals based nodal trading strategies using Financial Transmission Rights (FTR’s), Congestion Revenue Right’s (CRR’s)
- Deploy Point to Point (PTP) and Day ahead basis strategies
- Contribute to fundamental analysis of congestion patterns in above ISO’s
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in which you completed courses in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics or similar discipline
- A minimum of 3 years of ERCOT, MISO, PJM congestion trading experience
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- A strong working knowledge of power network topology
- Disciplined risk manager
- Highly analytical thinker and understanding of probability and risks
- Must enjoy problem solving and creating trading opportunities
- Clear and effective communicator
- Willingness to engage in dialogue and debate with colleagues
- Can work autonomously and be flexible
- Experience with Day-Ahead Locational Market Clearing Prices Analyzer (Dayzer) or similar software
- Proficiency in Excel, Python, Structured Query Language (SQL)

- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
- Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing

Compensation
Salary Range: $146,300 – $224,135 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
