Job Overview

We currently have the need for a part time, night shift (7pm-7:30am) House Supervisor for the weekends.

Responsibilities

Serves as a resource and supervisor of nursing staff on evening, nights, and weekend shifts and is responsible for hospital operations in the absence of a manager/administration. Provides clinical support and direct patient care when required.

 

Clinical Supervision•Provides clinical supervision, making rounds in all departments, ascertaining that quality nursing , family centered care, and growth and development principles for infants, children and adolescents are provided.•Demonstrates knowledge of the Code Blue procedure during an actual or “Mock” code, serving as a resource during emergencies.•Demonstrates ability to use new equipment and changed protocols.

 

Communication• Communicates effectively to the Administrator, Director of Patient Care Services, Management team, and Chief of Staff any emergency or concern regarding patients or hospital environment.•Communicates effectively & professionally with patients, families, and staff incorporating family-centered care philosophy in providing nursing care.•Keeps employees informed about departmental, hospital, and Shrine matters that would enhance understanding and performance.•Demonstrates effective use of problem solving, conflict management, and teambuilding skills.

 

Staff Education•Assists the Education Coordinator in the orientation and follow-up of all new employees and in the planning and presentation of in-service programs.•Identifies opportunities for in-service educatio
