We’re seeking a dynamic Education and Professional Development Specialist to join our team this Spring and make a lasting impact by educating customers and developing our talented garden center staff. If you’re passionate about sharing horticultural knowledge, empowering others, and creating an inspiring learning environment, this role is for you!

Requirements

What You’ll Do

As our Education and Professional Development Specialist, you will:

  • Inspire Customer Success: Develop and implement educational strategies to help our customers cultivate thriving gardens through workshops, seminars, and informational resources.
  • Empower Employee Growth: Design and lead engaging training plans for garden center employees, ensuring they have the expertise to provide exceptional service and care.
  • Set New Hires Up for Success: Create dynamic new hire orientations that prepare employees to excel in their roles and embrace Homestead Gardens’ values.
  • Enhance Horticultural Knowledge: Equip staff with a deep understanding of horticultural practices, product care, and customer service excellence.
  • Engage with the Community: Build partnerships with local horticulture and agriculture organizations to create educational opportunities for customers and employees alike.
  • Develop Resources: Create accessible learning materials and maintain a robust training library to support ongoing employee and customer education.

What You’ll Bring

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant training or education experience.
  • Expertise: A degree or certification in horticulture paired with extensive plant knowledge.
  • People Skills: Exceptional communication, teaching, and leadership abilities to inspire both employees and customers.
  • Customer Focus: A passion for helping customers succeed in their gardening endeavors.
  • Innovation: Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to develop engaging educational programs.
  • Tech Proficiency: Experience with LMS platforms and other relevant tools (knowledge of Eagle systems is a plus).
  • Organization: Excellent time management skills to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
