Maintenance Assistant

A Maintenance Assistant oversees the facilities and grounds of camp on a daily basis in partnership and under the supervision of the Facility Director.
 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Maintain the safety of facilities, campers, and staff.
• Assist in the cleaning, maintenance, and inspection of equipment and facilities.
• Accept other assignments as needed to provide for the effective operation of camp activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• Must be in good physical health, and possess good strength and endurance.
• Must be able to identify and respond to emergency situations.
• Must be able to work with people of different age and skill levels.
• Must be able to move equipment and supplies

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Have documented experience in facility maintenance, specifically plumbing, carpentry, lawn care, etc.
• Ability to relate well to others
• Ability to accept guidance and supervision
• Able to demonstrate enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control, maturity, responsibility, sound judgment, and good decision-making skills.
• Be of good character, and in sympathy with the goals and objectives of the camp.
• Complete pre-camp orientation, unless other arrangements made with Facility Director.
• Be cleared through a federal background check.
