Maintenance Worker (Lawrence Memorial Hospital)

We are seeking a per diem general maintenance worker to join our team at MelroseWakefield-Lawrence Memorial Hospital!

In this role you will perform a variety of general maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspection, servicing, repair, overhaul and construction duties in hospital buildings and grounds areas.  You will carry out tasks involving a variety of maintenance crafts such as sheet metal, plumbing and pipe fitting, carpentry, tile setting, painting, electrical and roof maintenance. 

Hours: 40 hours per week, 1st shift

Rotating weekend, holiday and on call shifts required

Location: Lawrence Memorial Hospital - Medford and Melrose Wakefield Hospital - Melrose

Job Description

• Perform a variety of maintenance duties in and around the buildings of the hospital complex such as, repairs, maintaining buildings, maintain machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment. 

• Assists other co-workers with trouble-shooting and necessary repairs as well as installation of new service or projects related to Plant operations. 

• Performs electrical repairs such as, removal, replacement of switches, ballasts, motors, motor controls, etc. 

• Performs plumbing such as, drains, fixtures, rodding, cleaning, etc., as assigned. 

• Performs minor carpentry such as, the installation and repair of such items as doors, shelving, locks, etc. as needed. 

• Performs repairs to plaster, brickwork or concrete as needed. 

• Solders and welds materials, as needed.  

Minimum Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• One (1) year of building maintenance. 
• On the job training in one or more building trades. 
• Valid Drivers License
