Senior Architect- Cloud Infrastructure

We are seeking a Senior Architect to lead the design, reliability, and security of our private and public cloud infrastructure supporting our Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings. This role is responsible for ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our infrastructure, driving automation and best practices, and collaborating across teams to deliver world-class SaaS solutions. A strong emphasis is placed on embedding DevSecOps principles throughout the software and infrastructure lifecycle.
 
In this role, your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
 
Site Reliability & Infrastructure Leadership

• Architect and evolve infrastructure and applications for SaaS delivery across private and public clouds, ensuring high availability, scalability, recoverability, and security.

• Advise Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) initiatives, including incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of uptime and performance.

• Advise on automation for deployment, monitoring, and self-healing systems using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and modern DevOps practices.

• Advise on best practices for observability, monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning.

• Advise on cost optimization and resource efficiency across cloud environments.

DevSecOps & Security Integration

• Champion DevSecOps practices by embedding security into every stage of the development and deployment lifecycle.

• Guide automation of security assessments, policy enforcement, and compliance checks within CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure provisioning.

• Collaborate with security, product, and engineering teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with business goals, compliance requirements, and industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, NIST, CIS).

• Advise technical efforts to continuously monitor, detect, and remediate vulnerabilities, supporting both operational and security incident response.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Mentorship

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure infrastructure and reliability goals are met.

• Mentor and guide teams on SRE, infrastructure, and DevSecOps best practices, fostering a culture of reliability, security, and operational excellence.

• Participate in architectural reviews, technology selection, and strategic planning for infrastructure evolution.

Technical Execution

• Produce technical design specifications and guidance to the appropriate detail, acting as an advisor/leader for multiple zones and/or multiple charters.

• Influence and promote best practices for software development, deployment, and operations.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify opportunities to turn them into teaching and learning moments.

• Produce documentation proving the value of proposed solutions and providing paths to implementation. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for platform architecture, processes, and guidelines.

• Identify opportunities to use GenAI tools across the organization and promote that within the org.

Architectural Leadership

• Exhibits mastery of multiple functional zones and multiple pieces of the application.

• Assess, advocate and approve external technologies and technology partners for their suitability.

• Educate broader company on technology architecture related to the Cloud Engineering services and tools that are managed by CIE.

• Identify creative and innovative solutions that could be patented and adopted by the broader market.

• Participate in architect and other developer interview process as needed; influence final hiring decisions.

• Determine the right robust, scalable, and secure technical solutions to meet the business needs.

• Be specific and mindful of dependencies to eliminate redundancies and avoid silos. Be the glue that helps navigate dependencies.

• Provide a vision of the core framework of technology services with customer focused mindset.

• Understand scalability and performance in terms of systems and infrastructure architecture.

Cross Functional Coordination and Communication

• Use techniques such as prototype (e.g. 4+1 architecture) and analytics to demonstrate value of solutions.
