Position Summary:
DAWSON is currently seeking applicants to fill our Registered Nurse (RN) positions located throughout the state of California in support of medical readiness services for the California Army National Guard (CAARNG). Work is primarily on weekends, with some occasional weekdays, at varying sites throughout California. All work is a part-time “as needed” basis. DAWSON provides health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the CAARNG.
Hourly Pay Range: $40.15 to $80.90 based on experience
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up, take down, and maintenance of workstation equipment
- Review documentation and medical information to identify required immunization needs
- Provide leadership and direction to the immunization and lab teams when required, ensure efficiency and quality of care
- Manage immunization cold-chain process. Will be responsible to ensure vaccine is maintained and recorded to follow cold-chain requirements while in DAWSON’s possession
- Educate the soldier about the immunization or requirement they are undertaking by addressing risks and/or questions they may have
- Administer vaccines and briefly monitor the soldier for reactions or side effects. In the event the solider does have a reaction, you are responsible to take immediate action to safely assist the urgent situation and document the incident.
- Provide Electrocardiograms as requested
- Work collaboratively with event personnel
- Safeguard all soldiers’ information
- Ensure all actions comply with HIPAA and other appropriate federal and state laws and regulations
- Complete trainings and education/certifications as required
- Follow applicable contractual requirements stipulated by the client and DAWSON
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure immunization team is providing immunization services and lab team is properly handling specimens to standard
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in California, with no restrictions
- Have a valid US driver’s license
- CPR/BLS certification
- 5+ years of experience as an RN in healthcare setting
- Phlebotomy skills preferred
- Lab and testing subject matter expertise is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly
- Ability to work for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speed
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Must submit no less than two professional references with a resume
- Must be collaborative and solutions oriented
- Must have attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills and experience interacting with challenging clientele
- Experience working in a military setting and working knowledge of the regulations and policies that apply to Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) and deployment is preferred
